Instructor Profile - Paul Gayler


Current grade:Shodan so Hombu

Paul began his Aikido practice in 1989 at Slough Aikido Club under the tuition of Sensei Paul Shepherd Yondan so Hombu and Fuku Shidoin (Assistant National Coach) where he has remained loyal , and trains two nights a week.
 
At the United Kingdom Aikikai (UKA) Summer School in 2004 Paul graded to Shodan, and in October of 2004 acheieved his British Aikido Board (BAB) Coaching Certificate.
 
Paul regulary visits Sensei Peter Brady Rokudan so Hombu and UKA Shidoin (National Coach), who is the head of the Myo Shin Juku House, for General, Instructors and Weapons Courses in Solihull, Birmingham.
 
Since starting in 1989 Paul has been lucky enough to attend seminars with a number of Japanese visiting Senseis, including Chiba, Shibata, Yamada, Endo, Sugawara, with the highlight being in 1992 when the now Doshu, Moriteru Ueshiba (Waka Sensei) was the guest instructor at the UKA Summer School.
